E-Bike chargers are similar — and sometimes identical — to laptop battery chargers. Most are very cheap, unreliable, and they don’t provide any additional functionality or fit into the user’s life.

A smart E-Bike charger could do so much more:

  • Smart battery management for faster charging without sacrificing battery health.

  • Battery re-conditioning could extend battery life in older batteries.

  • Charge multiple E-Bikes with different battery needs.

  • Better usability — cord management, options for wall mounting or portability

Project Brief

Goals: Design a plausible, eye-catching, Smart E-Bike charger (and accompanying visuals) as a nexus for conversation with major players in the E-Bike space.

Timeframe: 2 days

Constraints:

  • Incorporate real components to arrive at a realistically implementable solution

  • Integrated heat sink.

  • Explore cord management.

  • Portable and fixed options considered.

  • Simple onboard UI with additional app-driven functionality
